On a spaceship, Floating near Earth, The Solar System, the Universe:
On board the great ship Ocean Captain Gold lashed his tail eagerly. This would be a good day for the Empire. A good day for him.
Standing almost three meters tall and weighing around three hundred pounds, the great sentient stood ready to give the order that would begin the Reclaiming of Earth. Gold stalked towards an observation post and peered over the shoulder of a smaller female, making sure that the ships were in their proper positions around the planet.
Millions of years ago a race known by the Sentient as the Aldines traveled the stars. They traveled from planet to planet, building a great empire. When they came to earth they found life already there. For reasons unknown they had deemed it necessary to move most species off the planet, killing the rest. Soon afterwards the empire of the Technicians collapsed and much of their creations were destroyed.
Over sixty five million years the great dinosaurs of earth lived on the alien planet Proteus, changing and evolving. Among them rose the Sentient, a race of reasoning, dreaming carnivores.
The Sentient rose out of the desert, taming their foster home with technology, warring with each other for dominance. One hundred years ago in a cavern deep under the surface, they found the remains of the Aldine civilization. They dug up vast Aldine machinery, learned from it how to master energy and jump through the stars. The great reptiles also learned where they came from. Soon the Sentient race began to yearn for the home planet they had never seen.
On an old map in some Aldine ruins they found the place of their home world. Scouts were sent out. Earth was found in a system of nine planets. Then an awful discovery was made.
On the earth the puny little rats of the dinosaur’s age had risen up and grown, and from them had come the Humans. They were a vile race that walked like the Sentient, made war like the Sentient, but had soft skin, round, stupid heads, and many fingers, but no tails. Something would have to be done about them.
Now Gold led ten thousand war ships, full of willing gladiator-slaves and trained war beasts, armed with energy weapons and carbon blades. The puny humans would fall easily. Their civilization, though advanced, would be no match for his firepower and brilliance. They would be crushed.
The White House, Washington D.C., United States, Northwest Hemisphere, The Earth:
President Mara rubbed her eyes tiredly. Another blurred day of debating what to sign and what to veto was over. At last, Mara could finally get her sleep. Maybe.
“Mrs. President?” Maybe not.
“Yes, General?” Mara said, identifying the speaker by his voice. His voice sounded anxious. Mara turned around in her chair and looked at him. He looked-fearful.
“I have a matter that needs to come to your immediate attention.” He said. The general-of-the-army was a very ‘solid’ man, but their seemed to be little that was soft or jolly about him, except when something worried him. When he was worried he smiled.
The general’s smile was very, very big.
“Can’t it wait till morning?” asked the president a little hopefully.
Defying the laws of possibility, the general’s smile grew. “I don’t think any of us are going to be able to ‘wate till morning’ for a long time, if ever.”
A chill ran down president Mara’s back as, faintly, she heard cries of fear from the hallway. “What’s wrong?” she asked.
Wherever the Disembodied Voice, Called the Narrator, Is:
The war between the humans and the sentient was bitter and fierce. It lasted three years longer than the captain Gold thought it would (He thought it would take a few months). However, when the dust settled the earth had been conquered and the human race enslaved.
Human technology was not wasted, nor were the new earth creatures spared exploitation. The humans themselves were shipped like cattle and treated worse. However, a human slave was too valuable to misuse to badly: it replaced the Sentient slave’s entirely and made menial work an option instead of a necessity. The human also made it much easier to conquer the known galaxy.
Sixty earth years after humans were conquered a new race appeared on the galactic scene with the Sentient: the Amphin. The amphin were strange, un-earthly tri-pod beings with three tentacle arms and three tentacle legs. They flew in incredible ships that cruised the galaxy at twice the speed of light. After a small war with them the Sentient and the Amphin settled down to build a galactic empire.
Now, two hundred years after the union of the Amphin and the Sentient, changes are being wrought. A new race of primitive beings have been found in the Great Mass nebulae, ready for enslavement. Pockets of human resistance pepper the empire. On the earth the sentient emperor is dying, his surviving children vying for control. The stage is now set for heroes…
